#36

My birthday fell on a Tuesday this year, and the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The kids didn't have school the following day, so Brian and I were able to get a date night actually ON my birthday. But, the birthday celebrations began the weekend before my actual birthday.

My good friend, Jamie, took me out to see Breaking Dawn Part 2, buying tickets in advance on Fandango. Afterwards we had dinner at The Green Turtle. I'd seen this place just driving by and had wanted to try it. I didn't know they had a gluten free menu prior to our arrival, but I can usually find something to eat a most general sit down style restaurants. They actually had good ribs, and they were on the GF list!! Yeah!

Next we did a quick shopping stop. She wanted to get something at the Outlets, so I had her drop me off at Kohls (for those who know me, no big surprise there). My mom had sent me a gift card for my birthday, so I used that to pick up some earrings.

On Sunday after church I took Amber, Amanda and her friend, Liv, to see the Nutcracker. (will blog about that next - it was horrible)

On my actual birthday I made myself bacon & eggs for breakfast and then sat down to plan my day. I had a hair appointment to get highlights in the morning and had intended to get a manicure (I ran out of time for that). I decided to go to Frederick for lunch/shopping.

Some things never change ...

How I cook meatballs - in a mini muffin pan!
It's no surprise to me that it's been nearly 6 months since I've posted on this blog. My life has been super crazy since school started this year, but as I was looking back to find a recipe for my home made spaghetti sauce, I found my blog about my birthday last year. Low and behold, I looked down and found that I again have a purple manicure that I treated myself to this past weekend for my birthday (which isn't for another week). Nice to know that through all the hub-bub of life, some things never change ... like purple manicures and Tuesday spaghetti night with my homemade sauce!
